When I add movies, I have a feeling that folder monitoring is less accurate than it used to be to match the right title to the folder name.

In the past, MyMovies matched it pretty accurately, and the only time it didn't work was when the title was not in the database.

Now, it's most of the time a wrong title, picked almost randomly.

For example, I would add Big Business, which is in the database, with an ISO called BIG_BUSINESS.ISO in a folder called Big Business, and CM will suggest Risky Business, when Big Business is in the database.

I've tried to set monitoring to loose or strict, it doesn't make much difference re the accuracy of the title picked.

I had to go bacxk to confirmative s that I can at least add the title with no data instead of adding it with the wrong data 90% of the time.

What I don't understand is if I add it with no data and do a replace data, the right title is almost always the first choice.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'd sayit started a few versions ago, mabe with 4.02?

This is very annoying and counter productive, as having to confirm each title and then replace the data manually when it doesn't find it is a big waste of time. It was definitely much more reliable a while ago. I'd say it used to find the right title about 9 times out of 10, when now it's 3 or 4 times out of ten maximum.

I would like to see a log of that, because from the manual search I can do, this is not the results I get.

Be sure to have deleted "mymovies.xml" files from the folders, as it otherwise will re-import what was previously imported.

Sure, I had planned to delete the title, delete all the files in the folder except the ISO, and let monitor add it.

Any preference re loose or strict?

OK, log sent to support by email, please confim you have received it and that it is useable.

Here is what I did:

switch folder monitoring off
delete the title (big business)
delete all the files inthe Big Business folder except the BIG_BUSINESS.ISO file
cleared the log
set folder monitoring to strict
exit/lauch CM
CM finds and adds "risky business"
I replace the data, do a manual search on Big Business
It finds it (first choice) and replaces the data
Sent the log

So it looks like because the title I'm adding is a bluray, and the UK bluray version of "Big Business" isn't in the database, folder monitoring suggests "Risky Business".

However, the US version of "Big Business" (bluray), is in the database, and it's the first choice offered when I do a replace data and a manual search for blurays (all countries).

As far as I'm concerned, it would make much more sense to add the US version of "Big Business" if the UK version can't be found, than an entirely different (random) title.

Maybe we could have an option to provide our preferred country (or all countries) and/or a message from folder monitoring to inform us that the title was added from a different country.

Any way we could get folder monitoring to add the first choice returned by the manual search, possibly using the options last given for the manual search (in my case all countries/bluray) rather than a random title?

That would be really helpful and would save a lot of time.

Many thanks.

Just to say that I've checked in my language ptions, and the box "use data from United States or United Kingdom in situations where data could not be found in the specified country". So shouldn't the US data for the bluray title be used when it can't be found in the UK?

I'm changing the language country to US to see if it improves accuracy with folder monitoring.

Just wanted to confirm that accuracy is back, so thanks very much for solving this so quickly.
I reverted back to setting the default country to UK following your fix and it's working fine now as it detects the US bluray when present in the database.
I don't know if it's because I am adding more US titles at the moment, or if something had changed, but in any case the change you've made Brian brought back the almost perfect accuracy I was used to when adding new titles.

Thanks againCool !

We made a change in the search priorities that likely is what resolved it.
