I'm super new at all this and I have a question that is probably obvious to everyone.

Firstly, I did all the tutorials where I set up the metadata for dune in Collection Management. I have the drives mapped, the password set, and a user account on the WHS11 for the dune. My problem is, I don't even see the my movies icon on my dune. When I read the tutorial on this site, there was a screenshot of a My Movies shortcut in the interface. This does not exist on my Dune Smart B1. I've looked at all the applications built into it and I see many applications but no My Movies. Is there something I need to do with the firmware, or a setup I've done wrong that adds it, or what? I've been all over these forums and scoured the Dune's website for the answer. Please Help.

Did you set up your index export folder ? If yes, then from the dune just browse to this folder and create a shortcut (using popup menu on your remote) this will add an icon to your dune main screen.

You will also need some system storage for this to work (a simple USB Stick (Try a 8 Gb stick and partition it as per Scotts wiki below) will suffice you need approx 2 GB for system and probably about 6 for your index if you plan on putting that on the dune also)

It may help you to look at Scotts wiki on the dune which can be found HERE

you need to create the my movie icon in Dune manually, using your dune remote 'right' menu button. It should be pointing to the metadata index.

Thanks that did it. But for some reason all the titles that are located on my 2nd 3rd and 4th drives aren't working. I can see the icon but it wont play.

I fixed it. I just put the index on a USB thumb drive and plugged it into the Dune. I then had to remap every disk to be \\server... rather than M:\... but I've got most of it working now. Now though when I play an episode of a series, it just starts the disk rather than seeking to that episode. What's causing this? The episodes work fine in WMC on my PC.
