I'm trying to find ways to create nfo-files for each seperate movie by means of the My Movies Collection Management program. I understand from several forum posts that this must be possible. Can someone indicate the way to realize this? Thanks.

Along top Text "File" - "Title" - "Collection" - "Webservice" - "Tools" - "Help"
Select Tools
In Tools "Disc Changer" - "Load Changer Discs" - "Barcode Scanning" - "Language and Country" - "Options"
Select Options
Fifth Item down on the Media Centre PC main Bar

"Meta Data Storage" then in the Right-hand Pane select the Option you require in this case fourth tick box down.

Steve, thanks for your reply. The question now is, were I can find these nfo-files in my Windows 7 PC system. After localizing these nfo-files I want to put these files in the directories of my movies on my HTPC system. Steve can you reply on this? Thanks.

Unless I'm mistaken, the nfo files will be created in the folders for each film. You do have your films in individual folders...don't you?

Remember to press "Update" in meta-data storage to update the data in the folders.

Hi,

I've just got the same question on the location of the nfo files.
I've checked XBMC metadata (nfo files) in the options menu. Each movie is stored in a separate folder, but all i can find in the folder once updated by mymovies is:

1 foldername.jpg picture
2 additional pictures for front and back of DVD
1 xml file (movie.mymovies.xml)

but i never get the *.nfo in the folder

any idea what i'm missing here?

Thx

Have you enabled the NFO storage option in settings?

Hi,

Sorry for my late reply, but i've been off for a month.

Here is my setup:

I've scanned all my dvd's using the MyMovie iPad application and now, i've installed mymovies collection management on my PC (windows 7) and i'm ripping my dvd's to build a media center.
I'm using XBMC as interface and i'd like to leverage the *.nfo files from mymovies in order to control the metadata.

I've configured mymovies application accordingly (tools --> options menu) and i've checked the box "metadata for XBMC" under "metadata storage.

But still, each time i'm linking a movie to its "ripped version" on my computer, i'm missing to produce the nfo files. All i get are the mymovies.xml files.

Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks

And adding to my own question: would this be a paying service in the application?

Hi

I have somewhat the same issues.
Up until now, I have used MyMovies for an offline collection, where I could read about the movies, and maybe watch a trailer or two...

Now the scene have changed, and I have bought a Raspberry Pi for a media center solution - XBMC

As I mentioned is the collection offline going online, and therefore MyMovies does not know where the movies are physically.
I want to extract the nfo files from my offline collection.

Is this possible?

Regards
Thomas

Any news on this topic? The last entry on that threat was in November 2012, don't see a solution on this.
It's now May 2013, and I have the same issue: I selected 'Save meta data for popcorn hour YAMJ add-on (NFO file)' under the Tools - Option - Saving Metadata.
I saved the setup and selected to upgrade the meta data. The upgrade runs, and if I check the directory on newly created files, I see all the folder and xml with new dates.
But I don't see any NFO files. What needs to be done to have MyMovies create the NFO files from existing library entries?

Do I miss something here?

Thanks for your prompt reply.
