I am new and I have a question concerning name resolution.
I am using My Movies for Windows Media Center, a Dune HD Smart D1 for streaming and a Sony tablet with Android for remote control (I bought the MyMovies full version for Android). All files are stored on a Synology DS1512+ in my network. While creating the Meta Database I have to configure the options for Dune Media Player. Now my question: If I want to use the Android version of MyMovies for remote control do I have to insert the IP address of my storage into the Dunes path configuration or does the program also work with name resolution (i.e. \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\MOVIES versus \\NAME of Synology storage\MOVIES).
thanks...

AFAIK the app just sends the URL to the Dune to play. So if the Dune can find it with just the name, then it should work.
In any case, try it and see!

Follow it as described here: http://www.mymovies.dk/how-to/written-documentation.aspx?Page=My%20Movies%20for%20HDI%20DuneIf it works from the Dune index stored, it also will from the Android application.
