Hey There,

Handbrake has added support for Blu-ray subtitles in their nightly builds. This is a monumentally important feature that was previously missing and makes it impossible to watch any Blu-rays encoded with Handbrake that have any foreign audio what-so-ever.

I'd like to request that My Movies update the underlying version of Handbrake ASAP, either immediately upon the next version of Handbrake or maybe even updating to a tested version of one of the nightly builds.

Thanks for listening!

I agree that this is a very important feature addition.

However, we typically wait to add things until made available in an actual release, and not a nightly build.

Do you have any details on the progress of this?

That's very understandable, waiting for the stable release. I have no idea if you can extrapolate any info from this, but their Trac says they are 24% done for this next release: https://trac.handbrake.fr/milestone/HandBrake%20Next

Is the HandbrakeCLI.exe embedded somewhere in My Movies, somewhere where I could experiment updating it myself if I wanted?

Thanks!

I looked a bit into it yesterday, and from what I can gather, this is still work in progress.

No, it would need to be supported in our end as well, as we do not pass subtitle parameters for BD.

why not provide a Check Box GUI with Handbrake options that we may want to customize the conversion of movies.

This way your less responsible for handbrake conversion issues.

FYI: I concede that i may give incorrect feedback, but I will try to be accurate as possible

Because we would like to use specifically what we know works.

Is there a current option on the Video convertor on the WHS 2011 version to use m4v instead of mp4 file extentions? This is not working for me for my other apps that access the same converted files.

I think this was already changed in the latest release of the WHS 2011 version of My Movies.

I do not see the option on the Video convertor on the WHS 2011 version to use m4v instead of mp4 file extentions. Is this option available?
