On the details page in MC It would be Very USEFUL if the location title was MUCH SHORTER... These are the three I see...
1- Located in storage path(..,. 2- Located on mutiple storage paths(...
and the real Winner..
3- Located on various locations including on storage path(...
Of course by now you see a partial path or none at all...
Could you not use the likes of... Location(s) or Located on Then various locations would be MOSTLY visible... and useful... The third one should outright be banned...
Just one of several pet peeves... ejw

I second this - I want to remove this path display form the interface altogether - it is way to technical and irrelevant to normal users. Is there any way to configure this?

It is an option in CM (Tools->Options->Media Center Interface->Details View->Location Details->Display title location details) that can be disabled if that information is not useful to you. This information in my case is essential to see in MM for WMC when viewing the details of a given title as most of my titles are offline titles located in one or more Sony BD/DVD changers. Once I select a given disc to be played I need to know which changer that disc resides in, so I can then select the appropriate changer activity via my Pronto. That being said, like the OP I would also very much like to see the canned text reduced in size greatly. Agree 100% with the OP on this. Great suggestion!

by the sounds of things the original poster just wants to remove the prefix so the actual path can still be seen, Not that important for me but agree would be a bonus if the prefix could be removed.
my advice is given to help, my advice might not always be the best solution but is given to the best of my knowledge, my advice is not always approved by MyMovies and often isn't, if my advice ever suggests changing in any way a title from what is contributed on the webservice please insure no invalid changes are contributed, please read the following guides Disc Title Contribution Guide, Contribution Introduction, TV Series Contribution Guide

Just one of several pet peeves... ejw Like the OP, I would also like to see the prefixes reduced here. The longer the prefix, the less room left to actually show you the location details which defeats the whole purpose. Example shown below. In my opinion the prefix, "Location: " followed by the actual location details would be sufficient for all senarios. As this would only require a simple text change for each senario I'd love to see consideration for this per the next MM release.

The prefixes used can already be customized by simply editing the appropriate xml file located here, "C:\ProgramData\My Movies\Localization\". I just never bothered poking around to see where those prefixes are derived from. I changed all my prefixes this evening to simply show as, "Location: ". There's actually room at the bottom of the screen now to display the location details and not just the prefix. Imagine that. Loving it!

Thanks for the info. Helps a lot. One other thing I would like to see here though is to somehow be able to select the "Location" field in the personal Data field as the displayed "Location". Carl. My MoviesMy Music
