A question regarding backdrops:

First - I do have > 1250 points, and the backdrops work for those movies on my HD

Now my question:

Is it correct that backdrops are only displayed for ONLINE movies?

Is there a way to show them also for the back-collection (aka the stuff only found on the shelf)?

TIA

Backdrops show for *ALL* titles that have an IMDB *IF* backdrop(s) exist on the web service for that IMDB.

I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Seems not to work for me

Example: Movie OBEN (engl. UP), IMDB tt1049413 has backdops (confirmed it on mymovies online-edit page); they are not shown in WMC.

For some online movies, they display all right.. Are there any settings I did overlook?
Where would the fanarts for offline movies be stored?

any help is appreciated

Try going to the title record in Collection Management and saving it (don't need to change anything, just save). That should prompt the download of the backdrop. Sometimes it take a minute or so to get done.

The only client settings I am aware of are in CM under Tools | Options | Media Center Interface | Movie Backdrops. You need to set those on each client. Also the rating you assign a backdrop on "mymovies online-edit page" determines which is downloaded.

Thanks - it finally worked. It was that setting in CM.. wasn't activated - although I thought to be sure to have done it... apparently not... thats what you get when you try to set up things late at nite

Thanks again!

Additional question:

I have a couple of discs that have no IMDB number(=tt0000000), mainly Music-DVD

For those online, I understand that I simply copy my fanart.jpg into the file folder and it should display.
Is there a procedure on how to do something similar for offline non-IMDB discs?

TIA

Not at this time. I too have a handful of offline with no IMDB that I would like to make art for. :-(
