With 4.02 each time I added or modified a title it immediately changed the menus in Dune.
Since upgrading to 4.03 PR1 the changes are no longer applied to the Dune. Did something change with the new version ? Thanks

PS.: The tray application bombs as soon as I start CM. Is it required for updating the Dune ?

I would like a log of the title addition.

There was a change in 4.03 to specifically fix an issue that others were having with drives.

Ok.

This is a general issue with the tray app, and is not really related to the Dune functionality.

It have been resolved for the next version.

Is this the reason for it not updating the dune or do you still require a log of a title addition ?

Yes, it is.

The tray app is what stores meta-data, and it crashes.

Hi Brian,

Is the bug about categories not being updated in the dune index (already corrected and aknowledged) corrected with the 403PR2, or is it a separate fix not yet implemented?

It is fixed.

Again, it's a tray crash, and not specificlly a dune thing.

Sorry Brian, I've just tried with 403PR2 and it's not fixed.

Here is the issue again:

When you add a title in CM and assign a category to it, the new title is added to the dune index in the alphabetical list, or in the last added, but if you select categories (on the dune, not from the ipad/iphone app) and the category you have added it to, it's not there. Same problem if you take an existing title and suppress the category in CM, the title will still be in the dune category on the dune (but not on the ipad/iphone).
This problem is dune specific, because if I look on the ipad the title is added to the category, and if I select it and press play, it will play.
so it's only if you try to access the title from the dune directly, from the category section.

As far as I can see, the only way to update the category indexes on the dune itself is to delete the index (mine is in the public share of one of my servers, so always available even if the dune is switched off) and recreate it. Update doesn't work any better, you have to recreate it from scratch.

Please try it and let me know if you can reproduce or not, and if I should post this in a new thread.

Thanks!

Actually, having made a change on the iPad, it is not automatically applied to the Windows version.

You must run a synchronize to do this.

Have you done that?

I am not making the change on the ipad, so I don't think it is related to syncing or not. I would have the same issue even without an ipad.

Using CM, I add a title, set a category.
Say for example that I have a category called "Kids" listing the movies for my kids, and I add this category to the title.
On the Dune, I will find the new title in "last added" or "alphabetical", but in the categories section, the "Kids" list of movies will not be updated.
There is no problem wih the ipad, as long as you sync after a change one way or the other. The categories ARE updated on the ipad if you access the collection on the ipad.
It's only if you access the collection on the dune, using the Dune indexes (on the Dune user interface) that the categories are not updated.

I don't mind sending a log after I add a category to a title or suppress it using CM (and I'll do this tonight when I'm home if you want me to), but I don't really see why you need this.

If you add a category to a title using CM, is the title added to the category index on your Dune (again NOT talking about the ipad)?

Any chance it's been fixed in 4.03 PR3?

As I'm hoping you are doing / will be doing some work on this soon, I have the question/request.

I have had to move the Dune MyMovies index from a server to a USB to the dune itself (mainly because of the limitation regarding having only the movies in the share where the index is to be recognised).

As my Dune, unlike the server, isn't always on, does collection management "queue" the changes in the index until it finds the share hosting the index on-line?

If it doesn't, could we add this ability to make sure we don't lose changes when we use CM while the Dune is switched off?

Mm doesn't queue the changes if destination folder is not available (doesn't even give a small message window to say this...).

The only way to have th index correctly updated would be to setup the dune in Stand By mode instead of Power Off. In stand by mode any drive attached to the dune is always available over the network.
