So I'm a couple weeks into my first build and I've finally got some hardware bugs worked out. But I keep having this problem with PowerDVD where in the WMC interface I try to play a movie and it only shows a black screen. It works fine most of the time but maybe 20% of the time we are having trouble getting movies to play. I can go into task manager and kill the PowerDVDCinema12.exe and it seems to fix it for a little while. Easy for me to do, but not so much for the client. He has to restart the machine and then it works fine for awhile again.

I would really like to get the little stability issues worked out. Are there always lingering issues like this? I originally had a problem with the Marvell Sata III controller on the motherboard. The drives attached to it would just drop out of the system randomly until reboot. I've got that worked out by moving them to the main Sata II controller. So it should be irrelevant at this point.

I'll attach a log to see if anyone has any pointers for me. I certainly expected to have to work through some problems, but I'm at a loss on this one. The same happened with PDVD 11 so I updated to 12. Anyone have PowerDVD and MyMovies working good and stable without having to reboot all the time?

Thanks!

Edit: Can't see my attachment anywhere so I'm not sure if it's uploading...

I have PowerDVD 11 (with all current updates). It is the MCE default for for Bluray discs and via MM for Bluray iso and the external player for .MKV all works fine! Very occaisionally when playing an iso from MM PowerDVD will request a manual selection of the disc containing the movie (i.e. a virtual) rather than automatically playing the mounted one, but that could be a bug with Clone Drive/MM rather than PowerDVD.

I've been running PowerDVD 11 for more than a year with NO issue at all. It's as stable as it can be.

I have moved this to off topic as it is not My Movies related.
