I'd like to suggest a faster way to switch between the view of "By Title" & "By Added date"
While it's great to see everything By title in alphabetical order, sometimes you want to see what was recently added quickly. As it stands right now you have to press a total of 10 buttons to switch between the views.
I got this idea because my friend just showed me a program he uses for his collection called Plex. Plex got even more creative. What happens is, when you go to the root Plex area, you are initially showed what the latest additions are on the main screen. Once you pick Movies or TV Series then you are showed those in alphabetical order.
http://youtu.be/VlKd6yunWpE?t=6m19sI added the star icon MM option to show new editions in the last 7 days but that's not good enough probably. (still cool though)
It got me thinking. It would be nice to see what the latest additions are. Maybe you can add a Latest Additions selection on the Movies & TV Services media center strips directly? (or the option to add something like that)
Speaking of custom Media Center Strip areas. It would be nice to have the ability to add a custom Genre selection set to Music. That way when I want to view all music related videos, it's ready to click. (instead of having to go into movies, and click 10 buttons to resort things)
I realize I can set the Default List under the Collection Management options. (but I don't think that will work quite the way I lay it out above) I also saw the ability to set the Media Library to be Genre: Music. (but again the area we go to pick Media Library is not in a central location)
Is this a good idea and or possible for future enhancements? Maybe the ability to add a third strip all together?
(I'd name it Music Videos)
So to sum things up, I'm suggesting two things.
1) a clean and faster way to view "last added"
2) possible 3rd media center strip or custom button to do the above
3) adding to 1 & 3 above the ability to select a spec Genre: "Music" videos from the main Media Center screen. (dedicated button or strip)
