Which year should be entered here?

E.g. Big Bang Theory - Season 4

Should it be 2007 (Production Year of the first season, thus start of Big Bang) or 2010 (Production year of this specific season)??

IMHO it should be the Production of the specific Season so in this case 2010

Take the year from the original air date of the first episode of the specific season. The reason you see the wrong year so often on TV series is because of the IMDb importer, which always gives the first production year.
