After I synchronize disc titles with the webservice, the personal data entries are not displayed

Example:
Avril Lavigne my world, barcode 828765406895 (Germany)

in personal data, I changed the displayed title to "Avril Lavigne: My world"
it did display as such

Today I synchronized the title. In the general data, the local title is "Avril Lavigne my world"
After the synchro, this is displayed

To get back my personal data display, I have to open the personal data dialog - change nothing, just close again. and finally save title data (as I said, without changing a thing)
Now the display is back to "Avril Lavigne: My world" as intended

Bottom line - during the synchro, CM forgets to use the personal data, until reminded again......

This is not something I can reproduce.

What I did was:

- Add the title in question.
- Change the title.
- Run an "Upload" from the "Synchronize Online and Mobile Collection".

The title is then included as my personal title on the service.

Question then is, where are you looking at the title, where it does not change from the original title?

I did observe this with different titles.

Take some title and change something in the personal data settings.

E.g. Dexter, season 4, Germany, barcode 4010884538113
Official local title is: "Dexter: Die vierte Season"
as I do not like this, I did change this in personal data to Titel "Dexter: Staffel 04"

As such it is now displayed in my list, as expected.

Last time I did "Aktualisiere mit WebService" (not sure hows that named in english), there was an update to Dexter

I did this. Now this entry was displayed again with "Dexter: Die vierte Season" in my collection

I did select the movie, entered "personal data", did not change anything, just closeing the dialog box again.
Suddenly, the entry is displayed as "Dexter: Staffel 04" again....

Hope this helps to narrow things down.....

Ok.

Could this perhaps be as simple as the list during title updates shows the non-personalized title, until the list is again reloaded?

If so, this is something we already have a ticket on, but which is quite difficult to change, and have seen to be a minor thing.

I would suspect, that the title "forgets" that it has personal data attached, until reminded by opening the dialog... So likely only a flag that get overwritten

It is most likely only a small glitch... but it messes up the list quite bad (if the personal data title varies significantly from the official titles). Pain in the butt to browse through all movies after an update run and make sure its "fixed" (if one has about 1250 titles, as I do)

It does not forget..

However, if you press to reload the list, does not show the correct personal title?

Did just do a test.

As I'm to stupid to reload the list, I did it the "hard way".

First I did the update titles stuff. I found one title suitable to test it. The one title I decided to watch the CM behavior acted just as I described. Then I closed CM completely and reopened. All data is now back to "correct", displaying the custom personal data....

Ok.

This tells me that the issue is what we already have a ticket on.

What happens is that when doing title updates, a title on what is updated can potentially have been changed - therefore the system re-sets the title value in the list view for all titles that are updated.

When it does this, it does not look at the personal title, as that information is not available at this time.

And this causes what you see - everything in the database is correct, and as soon as you reload the title list, it shows things correct.

Yep, makes sense...

and as the "wrong" display obviously is only temporary, its no big deal....

Thanks

Latest observation:

I changed Dexter , season 5 (UK) title in personal data to match my other seasons. Now, I received an update to Dexter, season 5 (UK). However, the displayed stayed with the overall data, although CM was ended and restarted after the update. I only got back my personal data title, after I opened up the personal data field once.
