Hi,
I have WHS2011 and mymovies set up.

I have the DUNE index on a separate hard drive from the movies.

D:\ServerFolders\DUNE\
F:\ServerFolders\Videos\

Network path SERVER:/DUNE
Network path SERVER:/Videos

I am trying to configure the DUNE HD player to access the dune index on D:\ServerFolders\DUNE\

This is an example from a movie taken from the dune_folder.txt found in .DuneTitles

icon_path=.Icon.aai
icon_sel_path=.SelectedIcon.aai
media_url=nfs://SERVER:/Videos/Coach Carter/VIDEO_TS
template_name=PlaybackFolder

I have enabled NFS in WHS2011 and have shared the DUNE and Videos directories with all machines.

The setup in the DUNE player looks like this.

Name: My Movies
Type : NFS
Server: 192.168.1.105
Folder /DUNE
Protocol : TCP

With those I can see the folder, but it is empty!
How can I configure NFS correctly? I must be missing something

I have tried SMB but due to the share limitations of the DUNE it can not connect with two SMB shares at the same time, so I couldn't play a movie only browse.
I have tried Clearing the MetaData, and Updating several times.

MetaData For DUNE HDI for MyMovies Dune Index Location is
\\Server\DUNE

Path Configuration is
\\SERVER\Videos with a green tick.

Any ideas would be really helpful

Kind regards

Make sure you have check "allow root"

Also have in mind the windows NFS limitation:

Quote:
Turns out that Windows NFS will not work with mount points at all (and yes, it cost a support call to find that this limitation has been extensively documented within Microsoft). In fact, one of the unspoken and unwritten requirements for NFS on Windows is that there be a drive letter associated with the NFS share.

I had tried several things but nothing work with the built-in NFS, Next thing to tried is FREENFS. I use a Demo of Allegro NFS and it worked fine but I don't even really neeed NFS I'm getting 11MBs with SMB. Its is just faster with the DUNE (that I'm selling soon)

Thanks! a quick enable of root access and I can how browse with NFS.

(I have since deleted my database, deleted "DUNE" folder and re-done the lot)
Now have a folder called "MMDUNE" that has the dune's meta data, on a seperate hard drive from the actual movies.

Got a new issue tho, its the same as SMB. I get an error when trying to play back a movies

Failed to open URL

URL: nfs://SERVER:/Videos/Alien vs. Predator\VIDEO_TS

Also, when adding to the favourites menu

Failed to open URL
URL : nfs-tcp://192.168.1.105Money in mouthMDUNE/My Movies/

what do you think, any more ideas bud?

Just tried connecting via SMB to the MMDUNE folder to playback the nfs movies. that didn't work either.

UPDATE,
everything working great when using a USB stick as the dune index plugged directly into the device. With SMB for the videos.

For easy updating of the index, can you use Rsync?
