It is current MM policy to order TV episodes exclusively based on their broadcast order as stored by TVDB.
It would be great if there was an option to set and contribute the order on the discs and choose that as an alternative to the broadcast order.
This would be extremely useful for several reasons:
1. TVDB's broadcast dates aren't always accurate
2. It is fairly common for serials especially children's show or animation to have epsiodes broadcast in what was not their inteneded order. This happens for many reasons scheduling issues, production delays and so on. In some cases the effect is minimal to non existent but in others it causes major continuity issues.
When released on disc it is common (I might allege standard) practise for episodes to be put in their correct intended sequence even if this was massively different to the original broadcast order.
Currently I fix this locally by laboriously manually editing the episode numbers to the correct inteneded order but this cannot be contributed as it is against guidelines so will get overwritten by updates (yes it can be locked bto prevent) but it also gets reset if you make any changes to the discs tab then save which is quite irritating. Also it seem valauable ot have the correct order as stored data on the service.
Would it be possible to do something with the extra fields (there already is a production number and absolute order field) and have a seperate 'broadcast' order and a contributable 'on disc' order that a user may select as an alternate and often more correct episode order without haing to fudge things locally?
Thanks.

Second this wholeheartedly !!! Frustrating when watching Futurama to have to jump around episodes to get them in the right order :(

TVDB has the DVD/BR order stored as well as broadcast date, MM just doesn't currently allow you to use it. Request has been made for some time, with Firefly being the usual example of why it is needed.
