The new AnyDVD* changed the way they handle the region setting. Now, when I insert a disc on my server, instead of ripping, it hangs. I found if I log on at the console that there is a AnyDVD* prompt asking me to select the region.

How can I fix this so I don't get the prompt?

Thanks,
Scott

My Movies should configure AnyDVD* to not prompt for anything, but to operate in silent mode.

Can you post the log you found, and some details on where you saw that?

And, which version of My Movies and which version of AnyDVD* are you using?

Error sequence is:

Plysically open the disc drive that is located on WHS.
Insert Disc
Watch for it to start reading
Nothing happens, the rip does not start.
I log onto the WHS using a connected monitor, to the WHS desktop console (Not the Home Server Console from a remote PC)
There, on screen, is the AnyDVD* dialog box requesting you to select region A/C/C Automatic.
I choose Region A
Ripping begins as normal

MM version is 2.0.0.100
AnyDVD* is 7.0.5.0

Here are the steps I used to create log:

enalbed logging on WHS remote console
inserted a new, never seen blu ray into server's drive
server begins to read disc
server pops up the region selection
I clicked on region A
turned loggign off
captured log.

I believe this is an issue that have been resolved in our WHS 2011 version, where it sets AnyDVD* in silent mode.

It have however not been ported to WHS V1, which is deprecated development wise.

That stinks. Upgrading servers with Raid arrays is no fun. I wish you'd get off the Home server platform and move to a mainstream server. The platform ought to be more stable IMO.

It is planned that My Movies 5 will contain the features from Windows Home Server, on a standard Windows platform.

That's great news anyway.

Thank you.
