Become an installer

When joining the System Builder program, System Builders and System Integrators (referred to as System Builders) can pre-install "My Movies" on their Media Center or Windows Home Server products - only registered System Builders may pre-install "My Movies". There is a $250 signup fee to cover registration costs.

The program provides the option for System Builders to offer "My Movies" as a service to their customers, with the System Builders logo appearing on the about page of "My Movies" as an official registered installer. The version of "My Movies" installed by System Builders is the same as the one installed by the end-user themselves, and it can be upgraded with the normal upgrade procedure without losing the installer information.

When you as a System Builder join the program, you will receive an installation XML file to install on your Media Center systems - this installation XML will contain information about your company, a license code, and will optionally be matched with a company logo.

System Builder installations does not require a user account, and does not have any product limitations - all product features are unlocked with the System Builder license key.

Signing up as a System Builder

To sign up to the System Builder program, to install "My Movies" on client PC's, please send an e-mail to brian@binnerup.dk providing the following details:

  • Company name
  • VAT (Tax) or Company registration number (Required!)
  • VAT (Tax) or Company registration country or state
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Contact E-mail address
  • Website (Optional)
  • Logo (Optional)

The logo must be provided in either a vector based graphics file (.EPS, .AI, .PDF, ect.), or in as high resolution as possible.

VAT (Tax) or company registration number and VAT (Tax) registration country or state is required to be able to purchase licenses without Danish VAT (Tax), and for us to be able to document a Business-to-Business relationship. In United States, this number is the states company registration.

Please also provide information about the expected amount of installations you anticipate within the first year.

After providing these details, you will be sent an electronic PayPal invoice for the $250 signup fee.

Within a maximum 24 hours after paying the invoice, an installation XML file will be sent to you at the Contact E-mail address (as required above)with instructions on how to use it.

System Builder Benefits

As a registered System Builder you get different benefits over the general "My Movies" users.

No donation prompts
General My Movies installations will prompt the user for donations, and will feature a donation button within the program. These donation buttons will be removed on all System Builder installations.

No program limitations
Different functionalites in My Movies require a specific amount of donation points or contribution points to unlock full potential. There is no such requirement in System Builder installations.

Program Logos
An installation made by a System Builder lists the System Builders name in the about page of the program, along with a logo, and on the Collection Management program, the System Builders logo is displayed on the about and the start splash screen as an official installer. 

Official Installer List
The System Builders have the option to be mentioned on a list of installers on the "My Movies" website, to let users know who they can contact to purchase Media Centers pre-installed with "My Movies". The end-user can use this list to see which System Builders support the development of "My Movies", and they can use the list to see which Media Centers to purchase to be sure they work well with "My Movies". 

E-mail Support
If you need support that requires personal attention, in situations were you do not want other System Builders to see the communication, you have the option to get e-mail support. As all other support, e-mail support is free of charge.

Customer Support
Your customers can, as all "My Movies" users, get free support on the general support forum, so that you can either choose to support the customer directly yourself, or you can provide them with information on how to get support on the "My Movies" forum. If you find that one of your customers has a problem that requires special attention, you can provide us with contact information to the customer, and we will provide direct e-mail support for the customers problem.

Feature Request Priority
Feature requests received from System Builders will get a higher priority than requests received by end-users. System Builder requests are prioritised based on how many units the System Builder can sell, and the requests are typically not single user requests, and therefore the requests can get a higher priority.
