With the latest update the Pro apps just hangs on launch, activity monitors shows it at 100% utilization and "not responding." I deleted the app and reinstalled but still have the same behavior. I sent some stack traces to apple. I'm running 10.14.6 on a 2018 Mac mini.

Depending on the size of the database, this is most likely the database upgrade that is taking much longer than expected.

Please reboot your Mac, re-open the app, and let it sit for up to 10 minutes.

We are not sure why it can take this long, as there then naturally should have been an information about it.

This worked but was surprising as the app truly seemed to be hung. A progress bar or a window indicating one is waiting for an upgrade would be nice in the future.

Certainly - we have released a 2.08 with a informational message, and we are working on a progress bar for it.

It was not expected that it could take long, but some databases did, without us really knowing why.
