I have installed the latest version of My Movies for Windows under Windows 10, but when I start the Dashboard I am getting the message:

My Movies could not create its database on the SQL Server. An unknown error occurred.

I have uninstalled My Movies plus all SQL versions and deleted the SQL folders and reinstalled , but nothing changes.

The Event Log contains the following error:

Login failed for use 'mmdbo' Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database 'My Movies'

Thanks. I followed your instructions and am now getting the message "The connection to the internal database is currently not available. The application will close" when I try to open the Dashboard. I was prompted to sign in to My Movies which is a step forward...

File Attachment(s):
logEx.zip (2kb) downloaded 3 time(s).

Please check if the service "SQL Server (MYMOVIES)" running in services in control panel?

Then, do you have any third party security softwares installed? (Some are known to block the connections).

Please post a log file - see my signature how to.

1. The service "SQL Server (MYMOVIES)" is running in services
2. I have McAfee on my machine, but when I disable the firewall I still get the same result.
