I was contributing a few blu-ray cover scans for titles missing a back cover. I am using the Mac version (2.11.4)
It looks to me like the software on Mac and iPad will not let me add a correct scan of a Criterion blu-ray cover. I was finally able to add and upload when I tried from Windows v5.40, but I had to edit and upload separate front and back images, and the Windows version also complained and found the scan wrong.
Looks like the software does not like the aspect ratio of Criterion's cover inserts. Any chance of this being addressed in the Mac and iPad version?
Description of issue (on the Mac version) They full covers were Scanned at 600dpi, resized to 300dpi, and saved as png in Photoshop before uploading with the "Import full cover scan" option. The aspect ratio of the image files match the aspect ratio of the actual cover insert.
The issue is with the cover of a Criterion title. The software will not let me upload a scan that, as far as I can tell, is correct. I assume this is caused by the Criterion cases not having a "format strip" (Blu-ray or 4K UltraHD) along the top, so the insert is a little taller than for regular cases.
A regular blu-ray cover insert is something like 270x149 mm, so an aspect ratio of about 1.7:1 The Criterion cover inserts are around 272x160 mm, so an asoect ration of about 1.8:1 I also tried cropping the scan to just the back cover and uploading that at 1528x1889 pixels, so the same aspect as the front cover currently in the service (1208x1500). This wasn't accepted by the application either.
The titles I was able to upload a full cover for are (They are all 1.7:1 aspect scans) 760137121466 (Drowning by Numbers) 5709165016929 (Bagdad Café) 7119691215372 (The Saragossa Manuscript) 5036193020650 (Mad God) 5027025023496 (Candyman) 5027035024196 (Videodrome)
But not for the 1.8:1 aspect scan for: 715515282413 (Mildred Pierce)

On the Mac version, when I try the "Import Full Cover Scan" function I can't see a way to get a picture with 1.8:1 aspect to load. I think this is blocked by the application locally, as I get the message at once. This is when trying to load a 300dpi png that is 3221x1889 pixels. (I did try changing the size/aspect of the image to 3220x1760, and then it loads fine. But I didn't save or submit that to the online service obviously). But it is possible I could do individual uploads of front an back covers on macOS too. That seems to load locally when I test it now. (I don't have anything new at the moment to test upload, but will check that next time). Hopefully my flickr embeds work:

The import full cover scan function is a help to automatically split covers - it can only split covers that are of a known aspect ratio, as it needs to know where to split. Therefore, for non-standard sized covers, you must split them yourself - this does not affect the ability to contribute self-split covers. Having trouble installing or upgrading to My Movies 5?
