When synchronizing "My Movies" on my Android device or "My Movies 2" on my Mac, then I sometimes get server connection issues. I can live with this, since it will work after a few re-tries. What is bothering me however is the fact, that I can't contribute missing items anymore. In "My Movie 2" I do get the status "Contributing item", but after a while I still get the error: "The request timed out". Can I do anything about this?

Update: Now I got the message, that the title now exists (before the barcode was unknown to the system). However, the title in "My Movie 2" is still marked as "Offline" and it won't sync to "My Movie" on my Android.

I am guessing a fair bit based on your post but it sounds like the item you have in your collection is still the locally created uncontributed item you were trying to contribute and not the item from the web service. Local items won't sync to other devices, you need to add the version from the web service to your collection.

Problem is, that I can't contribute the items. I was able to do so in the past, but now I always get a time out when trying to contribute.

I was going off the title already exists message, if you are getting that then you can't contribute the item because it already exists, hence my response to add the webs service item.
The time out issue is not something I cant explain.
