This is unfortunately the downside to the current interface, which will be changed with V3.

Users should NOT contribute backdrops differently because of that.

Understood, any preview/screenshot of how the movie list/movie detail page will look like in V3?

I created 2 backdrops for the movie hackers which were uploaded and for some reason deleted. Any idea why? I created them with the correct dimensions...

It is written in the e-mail you receive about the deletion.

But, I can remember those, and the reason they were deleted is because they did not meet the criteria on no text on the backdrops.

Oh sorry I didn't see that criteria. I don't check my email often either. If I removed the text would it be acceptable. I had the correct dimensions but I also didn't see any mention for criteria of image resolution. I submitted at 72DPI. Is that ok?

The DPI value does not matter when the image is in a specific amount of pixels - it will only change the measured width and height which is never used when being displayed on a screen - that is for printing only.

Thanks. I only asked because I noticed a lot of the backdrops were in 92 dpi which I thought was a bit odd.

Brian - I've noticed that there a lot of Posters that don't fit into your standard expectations of aspect ratio and sometimes these are the only posters available for a title for a certain country. They are not that different from the aspect ratio you allow (one is shorter than the other).
Don't you think we might regret not having these posters some day? They might not fit into your current ideas of usage, but wouldn't it be nice to have them? I like to think we are covering all our bases - Wink you know, THE place to go for the best information on a movie. Limiting ourselves now might hurt us later.

The Top Poster is allowed- but the Bottom Poster is not allowed. It's a very common aspect ratio for posters, however...ALL of the USA Posters for this particular movie that I can find are in that Bottom Style.

Often thought that with the arrival of all the lovely movie art and screenshot backdrops it would be a nice complement to have a sound clip/ byte from the movie or soundtrack that could be looped unobtrusively in the background... not going down the wallpaper music path LOL but it would be nice say to have the movie info for Jaws being displayed and have that famous string riff in the background. The option to put a soundclip would be entered via collection management and the facility enabled or disabled for each film.... Reign me back in if i'm going to cloud cuckoo land Cool

I don't know if others are having the same message but quite often, I am trying to upload an artwork and I get a message saying that the limit of screen capture has been reached for this particular movie or that I can only post 1 screen capture even if I'm posting an artwork. Quite frustrating when I have nice pictures to upload. I am wondering if that is because they are in 1280x720. Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks,
gennove

the contribution can only be done on the 2.55 mm and not the v3 I assume?

Of so can one contribute towards the project online and recieve contribution points?

I am only asking because I am running v3 and dont see myself going back to v2.
v3 makes me horny lol

awesome job.

microsoft should wake up and see how you have managed to turn any computer into a 20k like kaladescape system with a sexier interface and functionality.

You should have no problems using V3's Collection Management and contributing backdrops and posters. All contributing of these things are done on the website page, and are not strictly dependent on Collection Management. CM just makes it a little easier to jump straight to the title you are working on.
So yes, as long as you are logged in properly, you should receive points for your contributions using V3.
While using the webpage doesn't necesarrily make me feel "horny" or "sexy" - I DO think it's kind of neat! Innocent

Just a quick question to be sure:

Are you allowed to upload the same artwork, in multiple resolutions? So the same image in 720p, 1080p and 2160p, without getting points removed ?

I couldn(t make that out from the text ...

Oops.. Maybe put this also in the description, because I have uploaded this to a few titles allready (unwillingly of course, not to gain points faster)

I hope I now don't get banned?

Just let us know which ones they are, before one of our more zealous users finds them (and they will!), reports them and we have to start removing points.
Let's take care of this now, before it gets too bad, ok? Then there will be no problems.
