When I add disk number 1700, 1699 disappears from the list. It still shows up in the alpha search.

When I add disk number 1701, 1699 reappears, but 1700 disappears. Both show up okay on an alpha sort.

I restored to a database with disk number 1698 and tried adding the latest ones again.

I am using MM v5.30 windows client/server on a windows 7, 64 bit machine; no security suite; .Net 1.1, 4.8, 4.8(Deutsch), 4.8(Russian), ASP.NET MVC 4 Runtime.

Should I repeat this process with Debug on?

I may have encountered something similar to this. I created 12 Child records for a box set (but not incorporated into the Box Set). The data was sorted chronologically by sequence number (“#”). At some point, I was reviewing the data and wondering where the 11th record went as the list at the bottom of the sequence went from the 10th Child (#3806) directly to the 12th Child (#3808). I eventually found the “missing” next-to-last record (#3807, the 11th Child) somehow had sorted by “#” to the very TOP of the sequential list. I only found it because I did a Title search. I have no idea how this occurred, but it seems directly relevant to the experience of the original poster.

I am running V5.31 PR 4.

Update: It looks like I captured this with a screen shot when I was documenting another issue. (attached) Note that the sequence numbers go from 3805, 3806, directly to 3808 while missing 3807. Not shown here, as it was discovered later, is that 3807 is at the TOP of the sequenced listing.

I added an attachment to my original post. It includes several screenshots with explanations.

In my case, I had sorted by clicking the “#” column header on the sidebar. I believe I did that before I began manually entering the 12 Child Titles so that they could be easily found at the end of the list.

Running 5.30 Client/Server and it seems that sorting doesn't work at all, no change when i click on title (always jumps to the last title in the list but no change in sorting) and the same happens when i try to sort on "#" (jumps to last title inserted).
It does seem that the "sort" box in the profile information doesn't have any effect at all now, have tried to reset all the numbers in my collection but nothing changes ..

PS!
I'm sorting with the toolbar

How are you sorting - by clicking the toolbar headlines, or by the A-Z button?

I click on the # in the toolbar. I tried the sort button and it works correctly. Thank you for asking.
