Hi, before updating from v5.40 to V5.41 I made a backup of the database, as always without any problems. According to the changelog of V5.41 : "Change: The database backup functionality have been updated to support future support for SQLLocalDB. It is recommended to create a new database backup on this version." I tried to make another update of the database -now with V5.41. It copied all files sucessfully and than hangs forever at about 90% progress. No exceptions. I had to kill the process. I tried it several times - always the same. On a second Win11 64bit system I made a new clean install from scratch and synchronized from the online MyMovies (no manual database restore). Same a before. Backup hangs forever. Any ideas ? Thanks Bye Erwin File Attachment(s):
log.zip (1,414kb) downloaded 3 time(s).

It's 185GB on SSD (Win11 System). I think it has to do with the size of my collection (2226 movies and 69 series) I've installed V5.41 also on a Win10 (!!!!) 64bit System for some testing (156 GB on HDD). Here on Win10 I get an error. Here is the log file - no logex. Maybe it's of help. PS: Can I delete the files under C:\ProgramData\My Movies\Temp ? BAK-files and directories - each time I start a Backup it is using about 10GB of SDD - never freed. File Attachment(s):

I am 99% sure that this is because of space issues. I will change it so that it writes more info to the log. But - the backup now has to create a temporary file for backup, placed in the directory you mention - the backup are bigger than it was before. Technically, to prepare for a different way of operating with SQL Server, without files inside it for not having to install the full database server. I expect that this is filling up your relatively small C drive. Having trouble installing or upgrading to My Movies 5? Click here for troubleshooting.Having a problem? you mean 185 GB / 156 GB of free space is not enough ????? Then the backup-algorithmn implemented in 5.40 was a lot more economical.

That I would expect would be enough. The backup file is now about double size - technical reason is that the database itself is included as before, but then additionally all files are included as the actual files separately - this is to prepare it for future use of SQL Server LocalDB. The last Backup made with V5.40 was 8,20 GB (8.813.988.352 bytes). Just before installing V5.41. And it was very fast - just a couple of minutes.

OK - thanks for your help. I'm trying again when the next version is available.
Can I download in the meantime somewhere the old V5.40 installation files ? I have deleted mine.

I have exactly the same problem with the backup hanging. I have 2721 movies in my database, FYI, the target drive has > 2TB of free space.
