Hey Brian,
There's a SQL related bug in My Movies that can cause disc path corruption.
I've actually had this problem for years, but never reported it because it was rare enough that it didn't affect me too much, and I didn't really understand what was happening. Due to a recent change in how I'm ripping movies, this problem is much worse for me now. I think I have a very good understanding of how to replicate it, so here's my detailed analysis:
I typically find the problem when exporting movies via the API and validating that the disc paths are valid. Sometimes the disc paths are all messed up, like this:

In the above log output, notice that all of the titles that have invalid disc paths have the exact same issue: somehow "superman the motion picture anthology, the" got inserted in the disc path.
This has now happened enough times that I believe this is how to replicate it:
1) You need to have Folder Monitoring running
2) You need to have preexisting movies ripped to folder (these disc paths will get corrupted)
3) Create a new movie folder inside one of the Folder Monitoring paths
4) Quickly (within a minute or so) rename the folder (possibly to correct a typo)
Here's what I've observed:
The problem only seems to affect movies ripped to folder. Movies ripped to ISO are okay. In both cases, I'm using "Online (Folder)", not "Online (File)".
The problem only seems to affect the one monitored folder path. If you have multiple folder paths being monitored, only the folder path that included the folder you renamed experiences the issue. For example, I monitor \\Tower\DVDs, \\Tower\Blurays, \\Tower\4K, and \\Tower\TV_Series. I renamed the directory for a new title I was adding on my Blurays path, "Superman Motion Picture Anthology, The", and the new folder name is what gets inserted on all movie discs that were ripped to folder, but only in \\Tower\Blurays, with the other three monitored folders unaffected.
From what I can tell, ALL movies ripped to folder get their disc paths corrupted, with the text from folder that was renamed being inserted into the disc path for all those other affected titles.
The movie that is in the folder you renamed is unaffected
The disc paths that get corrupted do NOT show as the title being updated/changed, so it doesn't trigger a new export via the API. I think this means the bug is happening behind the scenese, probably a SQL command gone awry, and this doesn't trigger these titles as having been changed.
This is not an API issue - while I am discovering the disc paths is invalid via the API, I can see the same issue in the My Movies GUI. It's just easier for me to find these when doing a large export via the API with my path validation logic
The problem is worse for me now because a couple months ago I started ripping discs to folder, instead of ripping to ISO. Since all movies ripped to folder are affected, my ripping strategy change is now causing this bug to affect me much more. I've fixed about 30 discs so far but I'm not done yet, I have about 100 movies that were affected.
A few weeks ago I was adding the Superman Anthology, and created the folder for those discs to live in, and I made a typo or something, and immediately renamed the folder. I think the folder monitoring picked up on the original folder creation very quickly, but then gets confused with the folder rename. Somehow the SQL query then does some type of mass update, probably a bad SQL SELECT + UPDATE, to change just added folder name to the new name, and accidentally selects a whole bunch of movies and updates them all at once - but only if they are ripped to folder, and only if they are in the same monitored folder path.
All of the above has happened to me many times, and always with the exact same conditions. I manually renamed a newly added folder that was in a monitored folder path, and all movies ripped to folder get their disc paths corrupted.
Hopefully that's enough detail for you to replicate. This is not a new issue, I know it existed back in 5.24. I'm also not the only user that has experienced this - I've helped other My Movies & CMC users identify and fix these issues. I don't know if anyone else ever reported it before.
Sorry, I don't have log files of this occurring. And I'm not exactly willing to make it happen again, as it creates hours of cleanup for me. The detail I provided above should be sufficient for you to recreate this inhouse.
