I have been running My Movies for years and i need help from the users as to how i can run My Movies version 5.x on a windows computer running windows 10. I have tried various versions 1511, LTSB 2016 / 1706 and cannot get the program to run. The major issue is that it will not communicate with the "local database". I have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 etc, but i still cannot get collection management to run. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Regards,

C. Salazar

My Movies must install its own database instance - you cannot just install an SQL Server yourself.

Uninstall, use our clean tool (Search uninstall on kb.mymovies.dk), then reinstall, and choose "Standalone" when installing.

Then the installer will install the SQL Server instance it needs.

Thank you for your reply. I have done this multiple times. I have used the clean tool, checked to make sure nothing was left over from the attempted install. Re-install and it always fails to obtain / download the SQL server. I have tried multiple versions of Windows 10 (rel 1511 thru 1709, ltsc etc) and gives me the same problem each time.
