Hello
I am currently running MM 5.40 on Server 2012r2 Essentials and would like to upgrade to 5.42. What would be the best way/process to upgrade?
Thank you.

Hello bill, I have exactly the same question. I see that you haven't received any replies here to your question. Did you get an answer to this anywhere else? Because of all the trouble I had last time I tried with 5.41 I would like to know that 5.42 is working before I try. https://www.mymovies.dk/forum.aspx?g=posts&t=46816 My home theatherMy movies

Yes, I have understood that. But I have still not found answers to the questions I asked in the other thread. Quote:If I now like to try with MM 5.42 on my server (2012R2E), should I remove the server Add-in before I install 5.42? Should I move any old SQL versions before I install MM 5.42? In the change log I can read: Quote:Change: Installer for standard release now allows to install standard version on Windows Home Server and Windows Server. Special Home and Essential build is deprecated. But I have still not found any info whether I should remove the server add-in before I install the new version or not. My home theatherMy movies

You should uninstall the existing version, yes. Having trouble installing or upgrading to My Movies 5? Click here for troubleshooting.Having a problem? Thanks! Then I need to think about what I should do. The disadvantage for me will be to loose the automatic disc copy function. But with the current status of Any DVD HD it only useful for older titles. When I lost one HDD in my server it was very convenient to use this function to rip all the discs again. I still use it when I buy older titles, for newer titles I use Xreveal for manual ripping. My home theatherMy movies
