BUG: Auto-synchronisation doesn't work in MM5 Pro and MM6 Pro since the release of MM6

Hello there (and Happy New Year again!)
I don't use MyMovies 5 or MyMovies 6 on iOS because I primarily use MyMovies 3 since the network playback feature in iOS has been deprecated, but I keep purchasing every year to support the Windows development, as I use primarily MyMovies CM to organise my collection for all my sources (Dune, Ugoos, jRiver, etc).
Still, I'd like the newer versions to work in case MM3 stops working one day with an iOS update.
Before MM6 was released, I was using the automatic sync on both MM3 and MM5, and it was working fine: you launch the app, it detects that it needs a sync, it does it, no user prompts.
Since MM6 has been released, this has stopped working in both MM5 and MM6. When you start the app, it asks "Do you want to sync" even if you have selected auto sync. So you say yes, but then you get an error message telling you that it can't sync because another sync is going on, and only then does it start the auto sync.
MM3 still works fine and syncs the database automatically on launch when needed, without these pesky messages and errors.
Please could you fix this very annoying bug?

This puzzles me, because it is something that we have had a look at, and I was quite sure it was fixed in the latest version 6 build - we will have a look again. Note - there are not going to be any fixes on version 5, nor 3 for that matter. And yes, version 3 have been deprecated for many, many years - it is just a matter of time when it stops working. We are upgrading servers in spring, and we do not yet know if version 3 can continue to use the service after that. Having trouble installing or upgrading to My Movies 5? Given that this is something that you broke in V5, it would be nice if you could fix it in V5 as well. It was working fine until MM6 was released. If MMV3 stops working entirely at server level, then it will be the end of the road for me re the iOS app. The only reason I continued paying for it every year was to support you and the Windows Collection manager. I had zero use for MM4 Pro, 5 Pro or 6 Pro, that I bought despite not using them as they don't bring any feature I need, they only took away the one feature I actually use (remote control and network playback for MyMovie collection on my Dune and Oppo players). If there is no support for the versions I actually use (currently V3 Pro on my phone and V5 Pro on my iPad), there is no point in keeping buying new versions, even though I've already bought V6 Pro to support development. As there doesn't seem to be any ongoing development on the PC side either (reported bugs remain unsolved after many months and the backups keeps taking twice the space and twice the time for a new version that seems to be never coming, more than a year after this abomination was introduced in a version tha'ts been pre-release for way too long), it looks like I'll have no ways or reasons to support the service. As my primary players are now jRiver mediacentre on my HTPC and the Ugoos AM6B+ that uses Kodi, I guess I'll just have to find a new way to manage my collection that focuses on Kodi (maybe Tiny Media Manager?), and use the Kodi app for remote control (along with Roomie Remote) and network playback from my iOS devices. I'll just have to stop using the Dune and Oppo players if I can't control them with the iOS app (their native interface isn't usable). I stopped using CMC on Windows as it was buggy, the interface became too dated and limited and the developer had no intention of updating it, so I guess I already took a step away from the MyMovies ecosystem when I did that last year and started using the jRiver library. I hope that it won't come to that, and that support will be provided (not for MM V3.0, but at least for V5 and for the PC CM). Otherwise, it was nice while it lasted! I can understand the frustration, but it is parts we have not maintained for several years. It is likely that version 3 will stop working, as it is using an older security mechanism. In relation to version 5 - when we release a new major version, we no longer touch the prior version - version 5 will not be fixed, sorry. Having trouble installing or upgrading to My Movies 5? Maybe this is caused by an iOS update that affected both versions. I didn't say that V6 code could affect V5, but if V6 evolved from V5 you could have broken something in the code when it was common and I might only noticed it after V6 was released. Even if I wasn't using V5 as I was using V3 as my daily driver, I was regularly opening it to sync the database and it was syncing fine, without the unnecessary message, until after V6 release. I noticed the bug on V6 first, then checked and saw that V5 had the same issue. Anyway, I understand it won't be fixed on V5, so let's forget about this. I'll decide whether I renew the app purchase next year depending on how much support there is on the apps that matter to me (mainly Windows CM, as it looks like V3 is about to die in the Spring). No hard feelings, I understand that this is a business and that you go where most users are, but I was hoping to see CM bugs fixed faster given that it looked like you were working on it. Why leave it in limbo for so long with so many bugs and none of the advantages justifying the horrible double backup? It could be due to an iOS update, it just sounds a bit odd. I will know when we have fixed it on V6 I think. If something was broken on version 5, it would have been further back. The double backup is needed because of future support - it is something we put in as early as possible, as we then have a longer period where users have taken "compatible backups". What about the unfixed bugs in CM 5.42PR though? Honestly I would have stayed with the previous version if I had known there would be no support for 5.42 for so long. I'd rather have a backup that I know is incompatible with the new version, do a last backup with the old version, upgrade to the new version and do a new backup with the new version (what we have always done with every single version of MyMovies) rather than have to spend a year with an unmaintained, full of bugs PR version that doubles the size of the backup file and takes twice as long to make it (when it works). Frankly, from a user's point of view, it makes no sense at all. The whole experience has been frustrating and alienating. I know you don't care about Windows users, but that's not the way to handle a new version. Either you have the time to do it right, or your postpone it. The previous version was working fine.
