How is this that impossible? I simply want an alphabetical list of my collection with categories. I keep getting a totally random list. Must I pay for printing?

When I request a Simple List, the downloaded PDF report lists everything in random order (at least I can discern no order). I reported this in an e-mail message with an attached example a month ago.

UPDATE 22AUG26: The Simple List report is working better but is not working well. When I request a Simple Report, I receive the entire report but now (1) my report request for adding another field and for re-ordering the fields (as provided in the request interface) isn't respected, so I receive the default fields in default order; (2) the report uses the standard Display Title instead of my Personal Information Display Title; and (3) the report uses the standard Sort Title instead of my Personal Information Sort Title. Overall, this makes the report about halfway useful.

Also, unrelated to reports, it seems somebody is messing around with the standard Display Titles in the data base, confusing them with the standard Sort Titles. Specifically, they're changing (for actual example) "The Glenn Miller Story" to "Glenn Miller Story, The," putting the definite article at the end of the standard Display Title. I've simply added Personal Information to these titles -- about a dozen in my collection -- instead of trying to chase why this is happening.

Same here, using windows app. Any report comes with a "weird" order different from the app. Also My Movies 4 Pro for Android DOES NOT create report requests, it says Users Online collection is not Active.

As of 10SEP26, the Simple Report still is not respecting my Personal Information Display Title nor my Personal Information Sort Title. There have been inconsistent and unpredictable changes as well as outages to reporting lately, and a lot of unexpected synchronization pop-ups. I'm using V5.43 for Windows.

As a personal and not a business user, I want the Simple Report to generate a PDF File; using the default fields and the allowed special fields in the Report Customization I specify, in the default order or in the special order I specify; respecting my Personal Information (the Personal Information Display Title and the Personal Information Sort Title, particularly) if I have entered any, or using the default if I haven't; for all the titles in my Collection. I use this Simple Report as a convenience to browse my Collection and to share it with others, and as a fail-safe backup for my Collection.

I just ran (on 10SEP26) a Detailed Report to see whether the reporting problems extended there too. The Detailed Report shows the items in random (or nonsensical) order. I think all of the items are included; it's difficult to confirm, because the counts are unreliable.

Is this created from the Windows app?

I created the latest Detailed Report from the Windows app. I've tried creating the Simple List from both the iOS app and the Windows app with the same unsuccessful results. (These used to work fine.)

UPDATE: I attached two Simple Lists requested just a few minutes ago, from the Windows app and from the iOS app. They differ. From the iOS app, you'll see 2384 items in the correct order. However, the report does not respect my Personal Information Display Titles nor my Personal Information Sort Titles. (By the way, the footer indicates 2018 items.) From the Windows app, you'll see a different number of pages with the items in no discernible order. (By the way, the footer indicates 2383 items. I can see Item 2384 though. There seem to be a lot of all-zero items, probably indicating parent titles that have children titles.)

File Attachment(s):
Bad Simple List from Windows App 1e804bca-6f4c-47e (452kb) downloaded 0 time(s).
Bad Simple List from iOS App a3d27dd0-091d-40af-a9 (369kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

UPDATE 15OCT26

I sent a message through the iOS app about these reporting failures and received a response, so I'm hopeful. There seems to be a difference between requesting a report from the Win program and requesting a report from the iOS app ... I don't know why. The reports requested from the Win program continue to be randomized and useless as of this morning, but the reports requested from the iOS app are sometimes correct and sometimes incorrect as to where in my collection the report starts and where some of my titles are placed. I just iterate on the latter until I receive a report that's correct! (Yes, this is inefficient.)

Generally, My Movies seems to have accumulated significant "technical debt" while pursuing other marketable features (which, by the way, as a casual home user I don't need and will never use). However, computers are rather good at counting and sorting and reporting, and these basic features need to work consistently over time. Somehow all of this slipped past regression testing.
