Hi all, After requests from many users, we have now opened up for contributions of Backdrops / Fan Art. You will be rewarded 5 contribution points for each uploaded backdrop. To contribute backdrops, click the new button "Edit Movie Details Online" in the Collection Management program in My Movies 2.53. The page will soon be updated to allow you to rate backdrops, download backdrops manually. After a resonable amount of backdrops have been entered into the database, a version 2.54 will be created with the option to store backdrops along with "mymovies.xml" files, and later on, the backdrops will be used in My Movies interface. This is awesome! I am really excited about this. One question I have is how will multiple backdrops be handled? Will there only be one backdrop allowed? There is definitely a variety of backdrops out there for different titles. How would you determine which one was downloaded?
I am all for zero user interaction required and you(mods or somebody) deciding on a single one that will be downloaded automatically, but just curious how this will be handled. Maybe if somebody wanted to look at them in collection management they could choose from multiple backdrops. Or I guess if somebody was really that picky they could manually do their own replacement.

I put the original title from an Anime, which is 円盤皇女ワるきゅーレ (Enban Oujo Valkyrie), but the actual page with the uploaded backdrops displays the kanji as ??????????

It's currently only letting me upload a maximum of 3 images per movie, before i get the message stating that i have reached my upload limit.

Thanks for letting me know - but I can't do anything about it right now. The tools are not in place for moderators to take care of this type of thing yet. This will probably be very frequent, since points are involved - of course.

The page have been updated now so that it disables the upload button after pressing it, to awoid double clicks. And, it checks the hash on the uploaded image, to ensure it have not been uploaded before. It cannot detect duplicates on those which have been uploaded until now. During tomorrow, incorrect backdrops can be reported to a moderator, and a moderator can delete them.

Wow. 700 backdrops within 3 days. What a community. Great success. Seems to be THAT "burner" functionality many users have waited for.
When will we see the Media Center Interface supporting this? And how will it looks like? Sorry for my impatience.

Yes, it's going fast - likely it will slow down some when most popular titles are populated. Initial goal was to reach 2.500 backdrops, then release a version that stores these with the meta-data. When you will see it used in the interface I am not sure of at this point.

This is an awesome idea! And one i never would have thought of or pursued. This is a true community builder, and some stuff people are making is awesome! Like seriously- this will make the interface difference between Kaliedescape and this...

I finally got off my lazy arse and got a few uploaded. Once I finish adding the offline titles I'll have some more to add. I actually had a few that had not been uploaded yet!
Can't wait to see them in MM... that was the one feature I really liked when I attempted to use MediaPortal and the associated movie programs in it.
