Today I found I could not download any movie data - kept getting a "webservice not responding" type of message. I was on an older version of MyMovies (which has worked fine before today) so I uninstalled it, downloaded v3.01 and installed that. Collection Management has installed but I can't access it as I can't access my account - I get "the WebService did not respond" each time. Also MyMovies has not installed (ie not accessible from within Media Centre).
Is this just me or a more general problem? If its just me, what can I do to fix it?
I am in the UK on Virgin Media ISP, running Vista Ultimate.
Because MyMovies is not installed I can't access any of my saved ISO image movies - Help!
thanks in advance

I have the same problem. The last time I was able to connect to the web service was at least 2 weeks ago. I have no other issues with my network or internet connection. I've downgraded back to v2 because it doesn't require a web service connection, so I can at least view my existing movies now.

Joehel - what version works for you? The oldest I have is 2.54. If yours is an older version where can I get a copy?
And how do I install an older copy? I just tried to install v2.54 and get the message that my database has been updated and won't work with 2.54. I located the 2 database files and modified the names, hoping that when I installed 2.54 it would create a new database. However it tries and fails to connect to the existing database, and so prevents me then opening Collection Management.
On the plus side, MyMovies has been installed this time, but I can't use it without a working database.
I'm stuck - any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks - is there something I need to do with my router or firewall to make this work? v2.56 used to work fine, although I don't know when it stopped working as yesterday was the first time for ages that I have tried to download and movie data. I installed a new firewall (Kaspersky Internet Security 2010) just a few weeks ago - could that be the problem? I have selected the "pause protection" option in KIS but that made no difference. I am also able to access the internet with no problem, so that is not the issue.
Any ideas?

I have uninstalled Kaspersky, and restarted my PC. I still get exactly the same response during Web Service login - "The WebService did not respond. Check your internet connection, or try again later". I have also disabled Windows Firewall, and get the same response. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MyMovies 3.01- same response.
What else can I check? I can't revert to v2.54 or 2.55 (the two versions I have - I was mistaken when I said 2.56 earlier) as the database is incompatible (later version). I have tried removing the database files in the hope a new install would create a new database (I don't mind losing my old one) but it still tries to connect to the old one, fails and then refuses to create a new one.
I have just succeeded in installing v2.57 but still can't download movie content as it says "there was an error uploading a file to the web service". Same as I started out with on v2.55.
I am really stuck...

Problem sorted, I think - my PC clock was wrong - I have seem to have a flat battery and the clock had reset to 2006, making your Certificate appear as though it had expired. I have reset the clock and it now seems to be working fine. Sorry for wasting your time, but hopefully this will be useful to any others with this problem.
Note: for completeness I have also posted this in the other related thread

What I did was right clicked the app in the start menu (windows 7 by the way) then ran collection management as troubleshoot compatibility...tried a few of them and the one that worked for me was to run the app in Vista (there were a few selections such as Vista SP1 and Vista SP2...XP SP1 etc...) anyhow I ran it as just plain old Vista compatibility and Bingo! I was in!

Still wont work for me. Do you have any logs I could check to give you the exception stack trace from the web request?
