Hmmm. Don't know why this is happening to you, but I just tried it with an Xvid copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows... and I get a backdrop. Well it's defnitely not just 'me' but it may possibly be limited to .iso files. Knowing this I'd probably re-phrase the subject of my post however I asked if this is supported on v4 and got a 'no' there as well from the author. http://www.mymovies.dk/forum.aspx?g=posts&t=24406

Hi,
I also use .iso files and I have backdrops. It works with the 3.X version and also now with the 4.x (PR) Version...
1. Maybe there's no IMDB-ID in your title. If that's the case there will be no backdrop found
2. You have not enough points. I think you need 1250 points for backdrops.
Regards, Tobias

Regards, Tobias Interesting thanks for the information and details. Funny that you seem to know more than the author, who told me only a few days ago simply that it wasn't supported (in this case regarding v4). In this thread where other users are requesting this feature for v3 he specifically says local backdrops are read for Online (Folder) types only then can't seem to remember exactly how it works. http://www.mymovies.dk/forum.aspx?g=posts&t=16994Revisiting that thread I see the IMDB-ID issue mentioned but not specifically addressed in the author's reply. And of course none of this stuff is in the documentation or in any release notes (if anything was ever changed). Per your observations and my results my guess is what I'm seeing is a points issue and/or likely related to an earlier bug where after the expiration of the 30 day trial of the full version one still got backdrops. Perhaps that bug was fixed for movies stored as Online (File). Anyway I appreciate the input as this has been bugging me for a long time having been told along with others by the author that it wasn't supported and then wasting time requesting it etc.

I think this comes down to how users are using this. If you are referring to backdrops coming from the online servers, these are not depended on the location type. If you are referring to backdrops storred localy on the harddrives, these are only supported as backdrop.jpg in folders, and not for online file links. Does that make sense? Does that make sense? Hi and thanks for the reply. I *think* I get it now. If I understand you correctly another way of saying it would be: For a movie stored as .iso, *if* the title isn't found in the online servers there will be no backdrop displayed and one *cannot* get a backdrop to appear by trying to create one locally as they could when a movie is stored as a folder. It would be nice to test this for my specific application, ie confirm whether a given movie is in the online server and perhaps try and 'force' a download of a backdrop when available. I guess I don't know exactly how to do either and/or if either are possible. I do know that I have never gotten a backdrop for movies stored as .iso I have 3 recent examples of movies stored as .iso for which I have no backdrop. Hereafter The Machinist The American After ripping I always add movies by opening collection manager with the ripped disc in the drive and if the title is recognized I simply hit 'Add'. If not I manually add it. In the case where the disc isn't recognized it is almost always found with a manual search by title. From collection manager I recently executed webservice, update titles and got backdrops for a bunch of movies that didn't previously have one. Didn't think to check if I got one for any stored as .iso will do that. Anyway, thanks for the help. I see that v4 is out and I can try a trial to explore those possibilities etc.

Looking at the stars on your account, it indicates that you do not have any points.
If this is the case, you will never receive backdrops from the servers, as that requires points. Actually as per my above previous post I think there is/was a bug with that involving the full version trial. Since the expiration of the full version trial I have continued to get backdrops from the servers, but only for movies stored as folders it seems.
